Advancing HealthIT’s medical accuracy and security with RFID
The challenge:
Health IT’s medical analysis laboratory customer BioneXt LAB, required a new RFID labelling solution for test-tube applications. It needed to be accurate, efficient and, above all, ensure patient confidentiality.
Joaneo’s solution:
Joaneo worked with HealthIT and BioNeXt LAB to design and print a UHF inlay on a paper substrate. This inlay ensured traceability, security and web authentication of their patient data. The unique features included:
- Triple data redundancy thanks to RFID, barcode and OEM label
- Security and confidentiality guaranteed using untraceable features and password protection
- Ample user memory to store up to 2 kbit of patient data
- Eco-friendly production; printed on FSC-certified paper substrate that can easily be recycled.
The result:
Joaneo’s printed electronic inlay works in tandem with BioneXt’s software to track samples and test tubes. There is no need for nurses or lab workers to scan test tubes manually. This is now an automated process. Efficiency has increased and human error greatly reduced. Doctors and patients receive test results quickly and are assured that privacy has been maintained at every step of the way.
